About the Artwork

Entitled “Celebrating Diversity is a Better Way Forward,” Monarch Elementary School’s tire design looked to combine the school’s mission with Michelin’s tagline – A Better Way Forward. To celebrate the diversity seen within Monarch, flags representing our students’ nationalities were painted around both tires. Two fifth grade self-portraits were painted inside a painting of the world to represent the global society in which our students live. Through the artwork, Monarch hopes to express how teaching students the importance of accepting and appreciating one another’s differences at an early age can aid in creating upstanding citizens.
