About the Artwork

The house represents Helping Hands which take in children from all different backgrounds. The children to the left of the house represent children coming in from the Upstate and the children to the right represent the children coming out, leaving the home with a better outlook at life and believing they can make a difference and overcome anything else that comes their way; therefore putting better people back in the community.

About the Team

Helping Hands opened its doors in August 1984. We are licensed for 54 children. We have cared for over 8,000 children since our opening. We care for abused and neglected children across the Upstate. We accept boys and girls of all ethnic backgrounds, from birth to twelve years of age. All children are placed through the Department of Social Services.
